The Inside/Out National Summit is the only conference that addresses the unique issues of incarceration and reentry from a multi-dimensional framework.
It is a mix of plenary and workshop sessions structured to support active learning and dialogue among participants and presenters. The conference utilizes celebrity speakers as a vehicle to develop a common message that attracts diverse groups and influential people.
The National Inside/Out Summit is designed to:
1) Provide a platform for stakeholder dialogue about strategies to address the incarceration crisis;
2) Educate attendees about current promising, effective and evidence-based in-custody and re-entry programs and strategies;
3) Provide attendees with a forum for networking and support;
4) Inspire stakeholders to continue to act and foster positive outcomes for individuals, families and communities impacted by incarceration.
Attendees from across the country include experts, government and institutional officials, community and faith based providers, individuals recently released from incarceration and family members of incarcerated individuals, advocates, researchers, social service providers, correctional officers, public policy and law students and health care professionals.
